You are expected to a) Participate in group discussion and all-class share-outs of information b) Complete the study charts provided c) Avoid use of your electronic devices—you will place this at the front during class and receive it back at the end. From your backpack, please take out the following items to use for review:  Your copy of the novel  Comedy Ladder ½ sheet  The Duke and King Chart  The Feud/Shootout and Lies/Duke-King T-Charts (in your own notes)  The End of Novel/Escape Plan Chart *Any other materials you have can also be brought out at this time (i.e. study guides).

3.  Within your groups, you will be assigned ONE episode from 16-43 to evaluate on a deeper level. From this, you must determine: 1) ONE or TWO significant elements of Satire (depends on episode) & Twain’s criticism of society through this episode; specify, then draw a quick sketch to depict your scene. 2) Impact on Huck’s conscience—What decisions does he make as a result of the events? 3) Key Characters and Quotes—Who is involved and what is their central conflict or issue? How & why does Huck interact with them, and from them, what does he learn? Locate one or two quotes. 4) **One aspect of the Comedy Ladder (where it applies to your episode OR elsewhere in Ch. 16-43)**—provide an example from the novel of one of the four. Explain WHY it fits this type. Use your ½ sheet of notes here.
