Don't mix electricity and water Most people are well aware of the fact that you can't mix electricity. Don't touch electrical appliances with wet hands and take care of outlets and electronics near water too.
4
Be careful with extension cords Although they are designed for user convenience, one shouldn't use them for too long as they can overheat and can cause fires. If you use an extension cord regularly, consider installing a new outlet.
5
Place a plastic cover over outlets There are many outlets which are located near the ground making it accessible to children - this can cause injuries and shocks. It doesn't mean that you need to replace your outlets, but using a plastic cover over outlets can prevent an safety issues.
6
Always consult an electrician for any of the above. Never use damaged wires and cords Don't use cords that are corroded, melted or have turned black because it increases the risk of shocks, burns, or electrical fires.
