Geography Geography is a science that deals with Earth's surface.

Institutions an organization, establishment, foundation, society, or the like, devoted to the promotion of a particular cause or program, especially one of a public, educational, or charitable character

Culture Culture is a word for people's 'way of life', meaning the way groups do things

Cultural Trait A culture trait is a learned system of beliefs, values, traditions, symbols and meanings that are passed from one generation to another within a specific community of people. Religion and family Food and art Education system Rules and government music language

Region Everything on the inside is the same but everything on the outside is different. Example: a state inside a country. Native Americans inside the USA. Little China inside California.

Cultural Landscape the cultural landscape of a place is composed of those features of Earth’s surface that are the result of human activity.

Location vs. Place Location Absolute Location: describes the exact position of a point, often using latitude and longitude Relative Location: finds the location of a place using other surrounding places, or by using cardinal directions Place Place describes the human and physical characteristics of a location. Physical characteristics include a description such things as the mountains, rivers, beaches, topography, and animal and plant life of a place. Human characteristics include the human-designed cultural features of a place, from land use and architecture to forms of livelihood and religion to food and folk ways to transportation and communication networks.
