1. Results and Analysis April 2012 Bristol School District Calendar Survey

2. During the 2011-12 school year, Bristol Public Schools were closed for a week due to a snowstorm. Because a number of concerns have been raised about making up the missed school days, the Student Achievement Committee is considering possible changes to the school calendar for the 2012-13 school year to minimize the likelihood of this situation occurring in the future. In order to make the best possible decision, Bristol Public Schools made a public survey available between March 27 and April 17, 2012, to gather feedback from staff, parents, students and other community members regarding potential changes to future school calendars. 3. Role in the District The response pool consisted of parents, students, employees and community members. Of the 1,892 survey participants, more than half were parents. Participation among parents and teachers tended to be high, which is likely attributed to the importance of the issue.
