2 © 2009 IBM Corporation e-config Training – Module 2 This is the second module in a series of modules that are being developed to help our IBM and Business Partner sales teams learn about the basic workings of the IBM Configurator for e-business, also called e-config. This module is designed to help you better understand IBM Services and how to configure Services with POWER7 systems. The following modules will be more technical in nature and will show the user how to configure some of the server/software/services products and solutions. 2

6 © 2009 IBM Corporation e-config Training – Global Settings Services  After launching e-config and starting an initial order, the Global Settings pop-up window will display. From here select the ‘Services’ tab. Some selections are set by default, you can select and deselect as you prefer. There is also a selection to ‘Remember these settings for new configurations’  These are the Services that you will have available to customize when building a POWER system, and will vary based off of the server or product 6

7 © 2009 IBM Corporation e-config Training – Services Settings  After setting your selections under Global Settings Wizard and selecting ok, you will now have the ability to choose a system or product to configure –Hardware, Software, Peripherals, Services, ISS Security  You could launch back into Global Settings Wizard, see bottom left of screen  There is also a Wizard selection for ‘Total Configuration Services Options’, which allows you to set the contract terms 7

8 © 2009 IBM Corporation e-config Training – Services Configuration  In this example I chose the POWER7 System Model 770(9117-MMB) –Remember the Services will vary by System and Product  You now have the ability to launch the Wizard for all the services available for the Model 770 –Implementation Service Products –Software Support Services –Optional Warranty and Maintenance Services –Software Maintenance Renewal Services –Installation, Migration and Planning Services –ITS Service Product Lines Products 8
