N€TFINT€X European Commission, DG Enterprise and Industry, launched a call for proposals (the INNOV7 initiative) to implement new methods of promoting and encouraging Transnational Technology Transfer INNO-vention aims to set-up and test a pilot TTT service taking advantage of latest methodological developments in the area of dynamic collaboration and Innovation Management with the ultimate goal of making the TTT process self-sustainable, enlarging the scope from SMEs to Large companies and other major stakeholders INNO-vention aims to exploit systematically existing TTT resources, networks, knowledge repositories and tools 3 target sectors: aerospace, automotive and textile INNO-vention will promote a collaborative approach amongst relevant players in TTT and stakeholders INNO-vention aims to set up experimental actions aimed at exploring new and more effective/efficient methodologies and initiatives for Trans-national Technology Transfer INNO-vention – Framework

N€TFINT€X Project objectives Establishment of a pan-European working group active in service provision for TTT To analyse success factors and barriers to TTT across less RTD intensive and higher-tech sectors To map, assess and rank existing public and private on-line repositories of TTT related knowledge To set-up an integrated model for the service and associated dynamic collaboration open platform for the cooperation and information exchange between the members of the extended network of TTT service providers To deploy the service to a first user group of Innovation Champions, clustering TTT challenges based on needs, trends, visions and offers into 10 test cases representative of the different crucial areas for TTT (innovation trigger, geography, enterprise dimension, IPR aspects, time frame for development, impacted sectors, …)

N€TFINT€X INNO-vention-Pilot Audience The pilot audience of INNO-vention consist of: –SMEs –Large Enterprises –Industrial Associations and Groupings –Universities –Research Centres –Technology brokers, development agencies First target of the project will be the Innovation Champions community (organizations of different sizes operating in aerospace, automotive and textile sectors with strong capacity and experience in research and innovation) The group’s aim is to identify leading edge technology gaps, trends and innovation needs, on which will be identified and realised the pilot projects

N€TFINT€X NetFintex “NETworking FINancial investors, business experts and support organisations to foster enhanced innovation activity among Europe's TEXtile and clothing companies” is a project financed by the European Commission DG Enterprise under Europe- INNOVA initiative. NETFINTEX, together with the “European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing” and the European INNOVA initiative, will also make recommendations to public authorities on how innovation activities and innovation financing can be stimulated and facilitated for the T/C sector by appropriate policies and programmes. The main aim of the project is fostering enhanced support for innovation and access to fi nance for Europe’s textile and clothing sector –NET-FIN-TEX seeks to "map" expertise in innovation financing across Europe and detail the financial instruments and schemes related to all stages and players along the complex textile value chain. –The overarching goal of the NET-FIN-TEX project is to: Establish a permanent European Textile and Clothing innovation financing expert network whose activities and findings will be closely related to the horizontal task groups of the European Textile and Clothing Technology Platform, in particular those dealing with Innovation Management and easier access to capital. N€TFINT€X This project involves 6 main objectives: To establish a pan-European innovation financing network in the Textile and Clothing Sector. To analyse the current situation, and the success factors and barriers to innovation financing in this industry. To identify and systematically review public and private funding instruments, sources and map related application fields in the innovation space. To develop comprehensive guidelines for textile firms relating to best practice in innovation financing and location of appropriate funding options. To disseminate information to interested parties through an on-line knowledge repository and to provide guidance for companies through a one-stop-shop information service. To prepare policy recommendations for the improvement of the innovation financing framework conditions for textile and clothing companies in Europe Netfintex – Objectives

N€TFINT€X The main project results so far are the following : "Opportunities and Challenges for Financing Innovation in the European Textile and Clothing Industry". A study was developed to identify key specificities of the Textile and Clothing sector, along with entrepreneurial & financing worlds' perspectives. These perspectives are relevant to determine the capacity of companies, and in particularly SME's, in order to access financial resources for innovation activities. Business Models and IPR strategies –Description of main IPR strategies (as non technological asset) for the Textile and Clothing Industry. –Identification of general Business Models and strategic profiles within the Textile and Clothing Industry. –Mapping of identified general Business Models and main IPR strategies within a matrix and contribution of Services regarding IP Strategies Within this publication insights are particularly provided on frequently used models to exploit Textile Industry related innovation projects and considering the value chain complexity, the multiple interactions and manufacturing steps. In the IPR-Strategy section of the report special attention is paid to non technological assets, like brands management. Netfintex – Results

N€TFINT€X The main project results so far are the following : NetFinTex - Trends and cases in Textile industrial Clusters –Survey on the trends in textile and clothing clusters based on past and recent market information as well as trends in performance of financial instruments in the four participating partner countries that can support research and innovation in European textile and clothing SMEs –Recent developments in key textile regions (in a number of EU countries more specific in Italy, Germany, Belgium & Poland). In addition, the report highlights important trends that may influence industry's innovation investment and focuses on innovation financing needs. A review on the trends in textile and clothing clusters based on past and recent market information as well as trends in performance of financial instruments in the four participating partner countries that can support research and innovation in European textile and clothing SMEs.
