University of North Carolina System Admission (Minimum) Requirements By satisfying FRC graduation requirements you will meet minimum requirements for UNC System Schools with one exception: you still must take 2 consecutive levels of a Foreign Language. The minimum requirements for admission will be a 2.5 GPA and 800 SAT (Critical Reading & Mathematics) or 17 ACT.

Recommendations Teachers recommend students for courses they feel the student will be most successful. They consider a student’s aptitude as well as work habits.

Schedule Change Requests Students are expected to take courses which they registered for (primary and/or alternate selections) If there is an error on a student schedule, the student may request a schedule change by email ALL schedule change requests must be done through email

Taking Non Apex HS Courses Students seeking to take a course that AHS does not offer, or that cannot fit into a schedule, need to do the following: Discuss the opportunity with their school counselor and obtain permission Fill out a “Dual Enrollment Form” and return to their school counselor for proper signatures Any grade earned is included on the student’s transcript

Attendance 2 absences in a block scheduled class is like missing 4 days of learning. Regular attendance is critical to academic success.

Top HS Survival Tips Help your child to be interested and enthusiastic about high school. When in doubt, ask for help! Help them to be here. On time. Everyday. ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO MAKE GOOD CHOICES! Get involved! “What is your thing?” Help them self advocate. It is never too early to think about college, day 1 of high school counts!
