8 IRSC DUAL ENROLLMENT Registration for Summer 1, Summer 2, and Fall 2016 opens on March 30 th. Registration ends May 6 th (Summer 1) June 27 th (Summer 2). Spring 2016 Textbooks are due by April 28 th. You may not DROP a class without speaking with Ms. Rains or Mrs. Hernandez once you have registered for your classes. The longer you wait to register, the later your books will arrive. –Book ordering will occur on the following days, so you must have your registration completed by those dates. Order Summer 1: April 22 nd Order Summer 2: June 10 th

9  Seniors please keep in mind that your final grades are due by May 12 th. This includes your virtual classes!  If you have any questions please see Mrs. Hernandez.

10  Seniors and Juniors may leave campus for lunch only - with prior approval  Freshman or Sophomores are NOT allowed to leave campus for ANY reason!  The only exceptions are dual enrollment students going to IRSC campus.  Any student that leaves campus without permission will lose all privileges for the remainder of the school year.  Any student that allows an underclassmen in their vehicle without prior permission will lose all privileges for the remainder of the school year.

If so please see Mrs. Hernandez or Miss Zirger in the main office.  What do you have to do?  You will touch base with your partner and see how they are adjusting to high school.  You will give them tips on how to get through classes.  You will assist in their transition from middle school to high school.  You will be a friendly/ welcoming face.  Junior participants will received volunteer hours.  Are you a Junior who is interested in mentoring an incoming 9 th grader next school year? YOU WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO WORK ON HANDS ON ACTIVITIES AND WATCH FUN SIMULATIONS. WHEN: MARCH 29 TH, FROM 8:30 A.M.-12 NOON RSVP TO MRS. HERNANDEZ IN THE FRONT OFFICE BY FRIDAY!!

17  The reversible practice jerseys must be return to Federici NOW. I have gotten 1, JUST 1 in two weeks of asking. Detentions next!  We would like to have a varsity and JV next year, therefore we would like all those interested to see Mr. Federici if interested or leave a note in my mail box with your name, grade, cell number and that your interested in Basketball next year.  There we be fundraiser this Spring to raise money for new uniforms, dates TBA soon.

18  Mr. Federici has been approached about starting several different teams next year: swimming, girl weightlifting, boys and girls soccer….. If you are interested in participating in the creation of any team (some of you need to learn to read), leave you name, contact info, and desired sport in Mr. Federici’s mailbox.  To create a team you need enough students to field a team, a place to play and practice, a volunteer coach and to start raising money NOW in order to purchase uniforms, refs. transportation and equipment to play.

Please place the completed form in Mrs. Hernandez’s inbox. You will be called down in the order that your form is received. If you are a repeat DE student, you may register online and have your classes selected before getting called by Mrs. Hernandez in order to save your seat. Keep in mind that your classes are not final until you get Mrs. Hernandez’s signature.

24 Youth Mental Health First Aid(YMHFA) USA First Aider Training In the United States, about 1 in 5 adolescents suffer from mental illness. As a result, Mental Health First Aid USA created a training to help people acknowledge that mental illnesses are real, common, and treatable and that it’s OK to seek help. YMHFA USA curriculum is primarily focused on information participants can use to help adolescents and transition-age youth, ages 12-18. Participants may include family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens who work with adolescents.
