2. Cinematographer A cinematographer is a professional who deals with the technical and artistic aspects of the movie camera. The cinematographer would work with the director during shooting to frame each shot according to the script or the director’s personal view A cinematographer working on filming the shot.

3. Cinematographer A cinematographer will look through the lens of a camera during the filming of a scene. The lighting director and crew usually work with the cinematographer to make sure that too much light doesn’t reflect off the actor. To become a cinematographer, years of training in the use of camera and video equipment is required. After that, a period of internship under an experienced cinematographer would follow. This will then lead to camera work for low budget films and eventually high budget films.

4. Director The director is responsible for the whole movie. They spend more time working on the movie than any actor, technician, or editor. The directors of the film are also responsible for the quality of the final product and how successful it becomes. Directors have many other roles in the making of a movie as well. 5. Director Some other roles of the director include: Working with actors, makeup artists cinematographers, writers, and film, sound, and lighting technicians. Determining how certain scenes should be shot; from visual requirements, to the placement of the actors, and the appropriateness of the script. Being able to edit the scenes properly. This can include integrating or cutting scenes so that it works efficiently. They must also keep track of their budget and be careful where to spend money.

6. Writer The writers of a film, also known as screenwriters, do not start out as hired employees. In the beginning, these people just write without even being paid by anyone. However, once the script is sold, it is called a spec script. These spec scripts are usually the beginning of the movie. Many times, a film project is started by the screenwriter and therefore, the writing job is assigned to that person.

7. Writer Many screenwriters work with script doctors in order to better suit the script to the desires of the director. Once the screenwriter finishes a project, he or she teams up with an agent or entertainment lawyer in order to get the project recognized and receive a higher income. During the filming, however, the screenwriter is rarely involved. They occasionally show up to advise the director or actors. Example of a movie script.

8. Sound Designer The sound designer of a film plays a very important part in the movie. These people work with the dialogue, sound effects, and the movie soundtrack. The sound designer starts by studying the script and then deciding what sounds or music should go with each scene. Sometimes, the director already knows which music or sound effects should be added, while other times, the sound designer will sit with the director to assist him. Once the sound designer has a good feel for what sounds or music is needed, they will start working on composing the certain musical pieces or sounds.

9. Editor The film editor is responsible for the technical quality of the film. With help from the director, the editors edit the film until the director approves. The director tells the editor which footage to cut, and where to insert certain sounds or music. Film editors are also responsible for adding special effects. Film editors use computers to store work prints which help organize the scenes and transitions that make up a film. Film editor at work.
