3 + Parallel Sentence Structure What does the word “parallel” mean? Extending in the same direction and never crossing; similar

4 + Parallel structure in words: choose all nouns, all verbs, all adjectives, etc. My best friend is loyal, kind, and impulsive. (all adjectives) My best friend is loyal, shows kindness, and often impulsive. (adjective, verb phrase, adverb-plus-adjective)

5 + Phrases work the same! Yay! Ralph loves playing football, sketching portraits, and strumming the guitar. All three begin with subordinating conjunctions (when, who, whom, whenever, after, since, etc.) I think of you whenever I eat strawberries, whenever I dance to a slow song, and whenever I look at the stars.
