2. SOME SIMPLE RULES  ON TIME- one free late pass; Terrier Detainment after that  DON’T TALK WHEN I AM TALKING – I win. I have the gradebook, and I can send you away if you are rude.  COME PREPARED TO WORK AT SOMETHING-paper, pencils, pens, a brain…

3. FORMATS TO FOLLOW  VOCABULARY – Cornell note style, period.  LABS – in pen (NO RED, PINK, BLACK OR BLUE ONLY), straight lines, copy everything (yes, you have to.) finish before turning in to tray.  WORK – keep it tidy; no crumpled, ripped, scribbled on papers.

4. BORROWING  If you need to borrow from me because you don’t have something- Trade me your student id for the period- (I personally buy the rulers, pens, pencils, erasers. I am not that wealthy.) I will share lined and graph paper if I have it, no trade necessary If you like to draw I will give you blank paper-DO NOT WRITE ON THE DESKS.

5. TURNING IN WORK  Put in the tray with your period number on it  All graded work is kept in folders- you can’t lose it if it’s in the folder. You may check your folder anytime, just ask.

6. BULLYING  BULLY FREE BEGINS WITH ME. I HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ANY NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR/COMMENTS.  I WILL WRITE REFERRALS.  IT IS NOT FUNNY TO ME, SO DON’T SAY IT.

7. ELECTRONIC DEVICES  There’s a time and place for everything. DO NOT assume your phone can be out and you texting/ tweeting/instagraming when we have work to do. ASK ME FIRST FOR PERMISSION. I will kindly keep it in my desk for the period if it is out.

8. FOOD ISSUES  I will have my room open during lunch Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday only  No backroom access; store things elsewhere  Water in the class is ok, any other liquid –NO.  Breakfast time is from 6:30-7:20.

9. NEW RULES  Admin will not tolerate; dress code violations Tardiness In room with no adult supervision Drinking, smoking, drugs Weapons

10. PASSES  YOU MUST have a pass to leave this class (unless I personally have asked you to step outside)  YOU MUST USE the restroom pass, this privilege can be revoked if you abuse it (gone too long, same time every day, meeting with friends outside, caught walking around)  Security is only a phone call away.

11. STAY IN SEATS  Be in your seats when the tardy bell rings.  The bells will ring at the end of the period, they always do. DO NOT get up and stand by the door.  If the bulletin is being read, STAY QUIET.

12. FINAL THOUGHTS  EVERYBODY deserves respect and tolerance-  Be kind to everyone in the class- you have no idea what they may have going on in their private life  If an adult visits the room make them feel welcome, show your best manners, respect goes both ways.  As a teacher, I try to understand what your issues are. Let me know before it becomes a problem in class.
