4 R ECRUITMENT OF P ROJECT S TAFF Within December 2012 Involves: FGB: Communication Expert; Research Assistant LABIRINTO: IT Expert; Carers UNEXE: Research Assistants SOMERSET: Carers; Project Officer Job profiles: tasks; salary; previous experience Focus on carers, whose position is designed to enhance the resident’s quality of life through the engagement with Easy PC System. 15 November 2012 4

5 R ECRUITMENT OF P ROJECT S TAFF C ARE T ECHNOLOGIST 15 November 2012 5 Criteria EssentialDesirable Experience  Good interpersonal skills  Good IT skills  Driving licence/appropriate insurance  Access to a vehicle  Access to IT at home  Experience using Skype, social networking and other IT products Training  Be flexible in order to attend training courses  Good literacy skills  Other related qualifications and training Flexibility  Be flexible in location and type of work (residential/community setting)  Attend staff meetings Personal Characteristics  Ability to communicate clearly (to understand Service Users and make yourself clearly understood)  Listening skills  Approachable  Honesty and respect for confidentiality  Enthusiastic and proactive  Ability to remain calm under pressure  Caring approach  Reliability  Ability to manage your own time, work independently and part of a team  Clean and tidy appearance  Sense of humour  Dynamic  Awareness of different methods of communicating i.e. signing, story boards, body language
