What is SWE? Mission Encourage women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity. *Following SWE events, girls report that they are twice as likely to have an interest in becoming an engineer.

SWE-ester Mentoring Program Underclassmen paired with upperclassmen based on major and an interest form Group events Mentor/Mentee Introduction event Scavenger Hunt in the fall Committee to plan another event for spring semester What would you all like to see in our mentoring program?

Welcome Picnic TOMORROW, August 25 th from 11am-1pm (Arrive earlier/later for set-up/clean-up) Located in the courtyard outside from Bits N Bytes Hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks provided Cornhole, Kan-jam, Frisbee will be there If it’s a rainy day it’ll be canceled

Football Home Opener Tailgate Location: Julie Peng’s house- 858 Rawley Ave. (Same street as Lincoln Hall, 2 blocks back) Time: Saturday, September 3 rd, Tailgate starts at 9 A.M. or just meet us at the game (Starts at noon) GET UPPER LEVEL TICKETS - Registration starts Friday the 26 th at 4 P.M. Website: studenttickets.wvu.edu Bring your own game-day snack/non-alcoholic drinks and any games Google Sheet will be sent around for a snack list The game is a gold rush so WEAR GOLD

Smooch a Pooch Fundraiser Friday, September 9 th Kick-off of first exam week Located TBA Special Guest: Brando, the Dogfather! $1 per kiss/cuddle Preparation: Brando’s Booth

Murder Mystery Lunch Girls ages 7-9 have to figure out who committed a murder based on clues given to them after completing STEM related activities September 17 th, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 1:45 PM ESB G102 Theme: Zootopia Need paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls for activities Will need volunteers to help lead the activity stations Sign up form will be coming out soon

Internship Presentations OCE Wednesday, September 14 th at 6pm, location: MRB 113 Hear about the opportunities Statler students and SWE members had over the summer! **Counts as OCE credit for any Statler freshman, so bring friends!
