Although we may not realise it, each day man kind is continuing to destroy our home on Earth. The vast changes to the climate have affected the way that humans, animals and plants live their lives. The temperature of our planet is gradually rising, and as it rises the ice is melting. This will eventually affect the way people live altogether.
3
Ice Each day, the amount of ice left on Earth decreases. Not only is this bad news for us, but also for animals such as polar bears and penguins who lose their homes on the ice.
4
Sea Level As the ice on our planet melts, our sea level rises. As well as this, the temperature of the water increases. Scientists predict that if all the ice in the world were to melt, the sea level would increase by around eighty meters! This would mean that many of the world’s islands would be engulfed in water. It is hard for scientists to predict how sea level will rise.

Quick Facts! 1. 2/3 of the world’s fresh water is frozen. 2. If all of the ice in the world melted, sea level would be 70m deeper than it is now. 3. Scientists predict that ach century, sea level rises by a metre. 4. Ocean is gradually overtaking land.
