4. Doubling Time is how long it would take for a country’s population to double at the country’s current population increase rate. 5. Dependency load is the portion of the population not in the workforce, which includes people under 14 years old, plus people older than 65. This group is dependent on those who do work for services they need to support them (i.e. education, health care, etc.) because they are too young to work and for those who have retired and are no longer working.
