1 Planbook.com A quick training on your new online lesson plan book

2 Signing In If you have not done so already go to planbook.com to register your account Sign up with your St. A's email address and a password of your choosing. It is recommended that you use your St. A's password for ease of remembering (though you didn't hear that from me) From here you can you set up your basic info (name, class name, etc)

3 Setting up your planbook Start by setting up your school year  In the upper left hand corner select Add A Year Name the school year 2014-2015 Give start and end dates (8/20/14-6/5/15) Click Apply

4 Setting up classes and schedule Classes are the subjects you teach Set up classes by going to the Go To tab and selecting classes To edit click anywhere on the class row and select edit

5 Setting up your plans Lesson plans come with sections for the lesson itself, homework, notes, standards, and more To change sections select Go To and click on display In the display section you can change sections, fonts, colors, sizes, and more Play around with the settings to find the ones that work best for you

6 Creating you lessons Click on the section you want to create the lesson for The lesson window pops up with the 4 default tabs: lesson, homework, notes, standards Add the text for you lesson. Format the text however you like (fonts, sizes,etc) Click the standards tab to add standards (duh!) Click on each standard you would like to include to highlight it. After selecting all the standards click Apply

7 More lesson options From the lesson drop down arrow you have the ability to  bump lessons into the future  bump back to the present day  extend lesson activities over multiple days  extend standards over multiple days  copy and pasting lessons from one day to another.

8 To expand your knowledge All that I just went over is available in a handy video tutorial from planbook.com Click on your name in the upper right hand corner and select Support from the drop down menu From here you have options to check out the getting started page as well as watching the excellent tutorial videos planbook.com has available.  Seriously, find 20 minutes to watch the first 4 tutorials if you are feeling at all lost.
