A 100% Chapter: 100% Chapter status has many benefits to include access for professional members to the SHRM website: question and answer options, statistical and research information, webinars and a treasure trove of information about what is being done on a national level. Professional members also enjoy free SHRM Magazine subscriptions which feature interesting, up to date information on trending in the HR profession. The 100% Chapter status allows benefits to the Chapter itself in e-blasts that go out twice a year to at-large members, a free professional SHRM Speaker is offered once a year through the speaker's bureau, the members are closely aligned and identified with SHRM in relation to credibility, reputation, and professionalism as well as financial rewards that go back to the chapter for growth and sustainability.

SHRM of New Mexico State Council The SHRM New Mexico State Council is an affiliate of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the leading membership association for over 250,000 human resources professionals worldwide. The New Mexico State Council was launched in 1987 and has been directed all these years by a group of dedicated volunteers committed to advancing and serving the professional. SHRM New Mexico is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization whose primary objective is to support and further the human resource profession in New Mexico,and to support local state chapters.

The New Mexico Chapters Our five New Mexico chapters provide tremendous opportunities for human resource professionals to develop their careers and build invaluable networking relationships. President President – Elect Vice President Secretary Treasurer Past President Board members are voted in by the membership. All Board members are responsible for the Chapter business and voting on items of business.

Communications Membership SHRM Foundation Diversity Certification College Relations Work Force Readiness Volunteer Leaders are needed to fulfill the tasks and duties for the chapter. Positions can be titled either “chair”, “director” or “liaison” depending on the needs and priorities of the chapter.

CLAs Web Admin Social Media Awards Charities Students Ad Hoc Committee Chairs and Committee groups can be formed to support chairs and directors in CLA positions. Committees can be ad hoc, and/or groups that work together throughout the year on projects and initiatives for the chapter. Projects and initiatives support the SHAPE Goals. Get Involved, Get Noticed!!!

SHAPE is the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence Both a planning and evaluation tool Covers the calendar year Reporting tool for the SHAPE award Need to determine who will take responsibility at the beginning of the year (ultimately the president) Chapter worksheets can be used throughout the year The form is completed online

Your local chapter generally plans 12 events a year. Our bylaws require a minimum of 4. All programs are submitted to the HR Certification Institute for re-certification credits that will help you sustain your certification achievement! The venue is DACC Workforce Center on 2345 E. Nevada, Las Cruces, NM, 88001. Each year the chapter hosts an annual Employment Law update the last Friday of September. This year, in 2012, we will celebrate our 28 th year!
