4. The Christian’s Journey The World Is Behind Him  The world tries to mold him (Rom. 12:1-2)  The world tries to distract him (2 Tim. 2:4)  The world is his enemy (Jas. 4:4)  The world is on a different track (1 Pet. 4:4)  The world is passing away (1 Jn. 2:15-17)

The Christian’s Journey His Cross is On His Back  Cross-bearing is a condition of discipleship (Mt. 10:38; 16:24)  Cross-bearing calls for daily sacrifice and self- denial (Lk. 9:23)  Cross-bearing is a personal matter (1 Cor. 9:25-27; Gal. 2:20; 6:14)  Cross-bearing comes before crown-bearing (Heb. 12:2)
