2 Purpose of the project: Development of a new generation of microwave equipment to measure continuously the amount of oil, oil-well gas and oil-field water

Developed by JSC “RPC “Istok” named after Shokin”, the test specimen of the complex measuring equipment (CME) is designed to measure the amount of crude oil, oil-field water and non-associated (free) gas from a well in the dynamic separation mode 3

CME “NOVIK” measures mass, volume and density of oil in the line with liquid by using a Coriolis flowmeter, oil’s water-cut –by using a microwave water-cut meter, gas in the line with gas-by using an ultrasonic gas meter. The equipment has a dynamic separator forming gas and liquid fluids 8

Microwave water-cut meter “PVN-615M” Principle of operation- measurement of the dielectric constant of water-oil emulsion in the microwave range. It automatically detects the phase state of the water-oil emulsion. Water-cut meter measures water-cut in the whole cross section of the flow of water-oil emulsion. High measurement speed - 1 measurement per second 9

10 Controller For each well it can: -take into account the effect of associated gas on the parameters of measuring tools (water-cut meter, Coriolis liquid flowmeter); -determine the content of free gas in the liquid line, using the data from the measuring tools (water-cut meter, Coriolis liquid flowmeter, pressure and temperature sensors); -introduce a correction for measuring tools in the liquid line if there is free gas in the liquid line; - determine the concentration of associated gas in oil, gas and water mixture; - measure production stream (crude oil mass, the mass of crude oil without water, the volume of associated gas);
