9. 9 Retail Mode – Retail Mode Guideline Installation for LDU For update new VR contents, current contents which are in your phone should be removed. To remove installed VR contents on your phone, factory reset the phone is required. Factory reset can be performed through DeactivateRetailMode application. 3 - 1. Copy and paste “DeactivateRetailMode” folder into your phone 1.Unzip only “DeactivateRetailMode.zip” file among those 3 files which you downloaded in your computer. 2.Copy unzipped folder(“DeactivateRetailMode”) and put the “DeactivateRetailMode“ folder to the root folder in your target devices like Galaxy Note7, S7, S7 edge, Note5, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ LDU or USB memory stick. (Please refer to the way like below and choose the option.) A)We will do Factory Reset so all copied data will be gone. So we don’t need to copy other files now. How to copy and paste files to your phone for Option 2 – Using USB cable Option 2) Using USB cable (Directly copy to the Galaxy Note7, S7, S7 edge, Note5, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+) 1.After you connect the phone with your computer using USB cable, “Allow access to device data” pop-up will be appeared. 2.Then please click “ALLOW” button. 3.Copy and paste only one folder(“DeactivateRetailMode”) into your phone.

Retail Mode – Retail Mode Guideline Installation for LDU 12 Install DeactivateRetailMode apk corresponding to the phone 1.Launch My Files app on your phone If you are using Option 1) OTG cable and USB memory, select “USB storage” on My Files application. If you are using Option 2) USB cable, select “Device storage” on My Files application. 2.Select DeactivateRetailMode folder 3.Select your model name folder which will connect to your Gear VR 4.Select the DeactivateRetailMode apk corresponding to each phone, apk installation will be started. 2 4 3 Option 1) OTG and USB memory Option 2) Wired 1 ※ In Note7, there is ‘My device’ menu instead of Device storage. Setting app will be launched and please turn on the ‘Unknown sources’ option 7. There will appear confirmation pop up then uncheck the ‘Allow this installation only’ option and press OK 8. For install apk, select the INSTALL 9. After completion of installation, press DONE. Finally, DeactivateRetailMode apk was installed successfully. Let’s move to the next page and do factory reset. 14. After completion of installation, please go to home screen. Now you need to factory data reset for remove current VR contents on your phone. When you go to Apps, you can find Samsung Retail Mode app icon. ※ “Samsung Retail Mode” application supports only English. 10. Launch "Samsung Retail Mode” application on your phone. 11. Select Configuration settings 12. Then input password as “5444” and click “OK” button 13. Select Disable the factory data reset 14. Then input password as “M729Q16K8546” and click “OK” button 15. In case of using USB cable, Put the VR Contents to your phone 15 Retail Mode – Retail Mode Guideline Installation for LDU After completion of factory data reset, please proceed the setupwizard steps and go to home screen. For update VR contents you need to copy and paste DeactivateRetailMode folder again to your phone from your computer. And you also need to copy and paste GearVRDemo.zip and VRDemoHelper.apk files, too. DeactivateRetailMode apk need to install again because of stopping the “Retail Mode” service during updates the contents. If you select using OTG and USB memory stick option, then you can skip this step, because you already copied the required files in your USB storage in page 10.
