Fort Worth ISD Request The FWISD requested reduced ratios to address concerns in master planning of schools; variances are necessary and approved for most projects The parking ratios only apply to new construction and temporary buildings; Schools in FWISD are typically older and located within neighborhoods with reduced land availability FWISD prefers not to remove outdoor area or open space for additional parking if possible South Hills High School FWISD Westcliff Elementary School FWISD

Fort Worth ISD Request FWISD staff has reached out to all area ISD’s within the city limits who have all concurred on the reduction FWISD and City staff (TPW and Planning and Development) work together regularly to meet the needs of the school and city. TPW maintains a staff member focused on the school properties and issues Paschal High School FWISD

Potential Remedies for Current and Anticipated Congestion Focus on increased construction of sidewalks: Safe Routes to School Encouraging bus usage for eligible kids greater than 2 miles from schools FWISD prefers to spend money on facilities, sidewalks and buses instead of parking lots that may lie unused

17. Recommendations Continue to work with school districts and individual schools on traffic control plans to mitigate peak congestion times Move forward to update the parking ratios as recommended.

18. Next Steps Zoning Commission would hear the text amendment May 11, 2016. City Council would consider the action on June 14, 2016.
