The Lowell Mills 1813, Francis Cabot Lowell Massachusetts The “Lowell girls” lived in company-owned boardinghouses. Worked over 12 hours a day in deafening noise. Paid less than men (cheaper labor) Experienced SOME independence free from farm life

Your grade will be out of 40 points so choose activities that will equal 40 points. Song Re-write (30): Choose a song to re-write. Include the original lyrics which must be appropriate for school. Rewrite the lyrics to include information about the Industrial Revolution. Magazine Cover (15): Create a news magazine cover. The final result should be neat and illustrate key ideas of the Industrial Revolution. Write the title of the movie SETTING: Where will you film PLOT: Write a 3 sentence pitch for the movie. CASTING: List 2 main characters and why they fit the role. Concept Map(10): Write the main idea in the center, and take notes on topics connected to the main idea. For each topic connected: -Include 3 supporting details -Include one illustration for each Industrial Revolution Menu

I will be out tomorrow… You will be examining two reforms: Education and Prison Reforms! You are to create a “Before/After” collage for both Reforms using words, phrases and images! You need a minimum of 10 for each side This should be neat, organized and colored
