Total Place and the role of partnerships HINST – what we do well: Well established TCA with good representation from partners Trading standards – action to tackle underage sales Customs – reducing availability of smuggled tobacco NHS – smoking cessation services Fire – smoke free homes Childrens’ services – education for children and parents Businesses – promoting smoke free workforce Local members – advocacy Understand where the biggest problems are Targeted social marketing campaigns Quit Smoking tariff

Total Place and the role of partnerships HINST – things to work on : Strengthen leadership and governance of TCA Smoking among 11–15 year-olds < 1% Increase Quit Smoking rate Smoking in adults <10% Halve smoking rates for routine & manual workers and pregnant women Smoke free homes >2/3 Consistent clear messages from all partners Brief interventions and referral pathways for all frontline staff Increase range and diversity of Quit Smoking providers Target patients with pre-existing disease Innovate, evaluate and build
