Hazen -- TWEPP 201210 Why Not MTCA.4 ? ● CMS was first! ● Use our own scheme for timing (not incompatible) ● uTCA clocks, Fabric B for timing ● Mechanical differences: ● Full-height modules preferred for reliable cooling ● “Need” 12 AMC slots: good match to detector geometry ● MTCA.4 geometry precludes 12 slot redundant crates
