3 Wilderness ● A wilderness is an uninhabited area. ● The wilderness is full of animals.

4 Slopes ● Slopes are tilt. ● The slopes were steep.

5 Naturalist ● A naturalist is someone who studies nature. ● A naturalist went to study the forest.

6 Preserve ● Preserve means to keep away from harm. ● The preserves were away from harm.

7 Glacier ● A glacier is a big piece of ice. ● A glacier hit my boat and it sank.

8 Impressive ● Impressive means to impress. ● My friend did something impressive.

9 Route ● Route means send along a path. ● We took the wrong route and we had to turn around.

10 Coast ● The coast is a border near the water. ● We are at the coast when we are at the beach.

11 Landmarks Landmarks are historical sights. ● We will see lots of landmarks in Boston.

12 Landscape ● A landscape is the countryside. ● The landscape was beautiful.

13 Sights ● Sights are views. ● I saw sights in the airplane.

14 Desert ● A desert is dry land. ● Deserts are hot and dry.

15 Valleys ● A valley is hollow in the land. ● My mom and dad work in the valley.

16 Enormous ● Enormous means very large. ● I saw an enormous elephant.

17 Magnificent ● Magnificent means wonderful. ● My magnificent puppy did a trick for me.

18 Navigate ● Navigate means guide through a route smoothly. ● We have a navigation system in our car to help navigate us.
