3 Citing Sources If there is an author – cite the author’s last name and page number(s). Ex: (Graves 74). If there is no author – cite the title and page number(s). Ex: (Greek Gods and Heroes 34-38). **Note – underline or italicize the title. If there is an editor you still only cite the title. Ex: (World Book 256). Don’t forget to use quotation marks if the information is directly taken from the text!

5 What to Check For: Capitalization – each word in a title. Correct underlining, italics, quotation marks, etc. Check punctuation Make sure you indent.

6 Save Save Save Save on the H drive – the one with your ID number Do ONE powerpoint and email to the other person – Group Wise – type in other person’s name, attach the file and email. Do not use other email address.

7 Tomorrow Meet in the Upper library Bring your Writer’s Inc. Be prepared to finish!

8 By the End of the Period Finish the PowerPoint – check it for any errors, make sure you have citations, avoid distracting colors, etc. Discuss with your partner who will cover what slides.

9 By the End of the Period Make sure that your blue packet has the four questions finished and at least two source cards completed. Print out two copies of the PowerPoint in HANDOUT form.

10 Tonight Review your pages and practice speaking them out loud Look over your blue packet – it is due tomorrow.

11 Speaking  Speak loudly and clearly with enthusiasm. (Teacher voice)  Try to avoid filler words (ums, uhs, you knows, likes)  Make eye contact with your audience. Try to “sprinkle” them.  Have good posture that is neither distracting nor informal. (don’t lean or slouch)
