2 Introduction Politics of Aid 4 Many developing countries in Africa suffer from a series of problems which makes life very difficult. 1) TOO MANY PEOPLE 2) NOT ENOUGH FOOD The 3 rd of these problems that we are going to learn about is: POOR HEALTH

3 Next Problem….Poor Health Politics of Aid 4 Developing countries do not have a National Health Service. If there is not a proper immunisation programme it is difficult to fight disease. In the UK most of us have had the measles and been ok. In a developing country we would probably be dead. This is because we gain important nutrients from the food we eat and this helps us fight infection and disease.

5 7. Why do people in Ethiopia have difficulty getting medical help when they are ill? There are fewer doctors – this means people have to go a long way to see one People have to pay to see doctors – they can’t afford it and maybe can’t afford to travel either Medicines have to be paid for – they are very expensive
