Definitions & Assumptions ● Immortality is eternal life manifested through an incorruptible body ● Immortality is Conditional – not inherent “ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God” Revelation 2:7

Definitions & Assumptions ● Immortality is eternal life manifested through an incorruptible body ● Immortality is Conditional – not inherent “ Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” James 1:12

Definitions & Assumptions ● Immortality is eternal life manifested through an incorruptible body ● Immortality is Conditional – not inherent “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Definitions & Assumptions ● Immortality is eternal life manifested through an incorruptible body ● Immortality is Conditional – not inherent ● Immortality to be Bestowed in the Future “And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.” 1 John 2:25

Definitions & Assumptions ● Immortality is eternal life manifested through an incorruptible body ● Immortality is Conditional – not inherent ● Immortality to be Bestowed in the Future “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus” 2 Timothy 1:1

When is Immortality received? ● Immortality is eternal life manifested through an incorruptible body ● Immortality is Conditional – not inherent ● Immortality to be Bestowed in the Future ● Immortality is to be inherited when Christ returns “And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” Matthew 19:29

When is Immortality received? ● Immortality is eternal life manifested through an incorruptible body ● Immortality is Conditional – not inherent ● Immortality to be Bestowed in the Future ● Immortality is to be inherited when Christ returns “And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?.... Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.” Luke 18:18,30

How Immortality will be Received ● Immortality of the Bible, unlike immortality as presented by popular belief, is to be manifested as a result of CHANGE OF A BODY, AT THE RESURRECTION

How Immortality will be Received “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-54

How Immortality will be Received “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.” 2 Corinthians 5:1-4

How Immortality will be Received “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.” Philippians 3:20-21

How Immortality will be Received “But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.” Luke 20:35-36

Which Resurrection? ● There are several – The resurrection of Israel (Ezekiel 37) – The resurrection at Christ's coming – The resurrection at the end of the 1000 year rule of Christ ● Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
