1. GOLD TEAMS MOVING SYSTEM By- Kaitlyne Sammi Julia Yana Grace

2. OUR IDEAS AND PLANS (sammi) These past few days in Quest we are creating a moving system to help 10 pennies travel 3 feet across the floor. So we got thinking; we stared to think of a boat or a ramp but that didn’t seem that it wouldn’t be the right idea for us, so we thought differently and a PLANE came to mind. (Julia) We drew a diagram of a box with cardboard wings and a cup inside to hold these 10 pennies. We got our materials, tape, cardboard box, cardboard wings/tail, and an egg carton cup and thought of the forces that might stop it or help it go. Thrust, gravity, lift,

3. Building and testing (Grace) We started with a weightless, small, cardboard box. We attached cardboard wings, a cardboard tail, with tape, and cardboard supporters underneath to hold the wings and tail in place. Then we connected an egg carton cup inside of our box with wings to hold the pennies. We tested our plane and we found out that it was too heavy in the middle where the pennies were so we needed to make some adjustments. (Yana) We started this by taping the pennies all around the roof of our plane so the weight was more spread out. Next, we made a nose for our plane so it didn’t make a loop-de-loop and instead it will go strait. Our adjustments were useful and it flew gracefully 3 feet over the floor.

4. (Kaitlyne) Before testing we had a heavy slow flying airplane that wouldn’t fly. After we tested we had a quick light flying airplane. We had SO much fun working together on this amazing plane that can fly 3 feet across the floor. by- the amazing gold team!
