The High Flight Program Established in AY 2010-2011 Help qualified candidates prepare for application to the US Service Academies Ensure candidates are competitive and exceed US Service Academies’ appointment standards

High Flight Focus 1.Academics – advanced curriculum, grades, standardized testing 2.Athletics – participate and must exceed “standard” for the candidate fitness assessment 3.Leadership – AFJROTC, clubs, sports, community service 4.Enrichment 5.Extracurricular Activities 6.Visit – summer programs 7.Secure a nomination – Presidential, VP, Senators, Congressman 8.Pass the DODMERB physical with no disorders or diseases 9.Demonstrate excellent interviewing skills. 10.Show passion and a desire to serve.

High Flight Eligibility Current student U.S. citizen Grades 9 (second semester), 10 &11 Advanced curriculum Minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA Participate in Air Force JROTC activities Be passionate about attending a Service Academy No medically disqualifying disease or disorder

High Flight Management Mentored by retired military faculty and staff Receive $2,000 High Flight Merit Scholarship Advanced course selection—focus science & math Maintain 3.5 cum GPA or higher Standardized testing - prep, early SAT & ACT testing Participate in physical training program with quarterly testing Apply for Academy summer seminar Earn senior leadership position in AF JROTC Performance reviewed quarterly - grades, citizenship and active participation to remain in program
