Frog Island is located in the northwest of inner-city Leicester, and is so named because it lies between the River Soar and the Grand Union Canal. Frog Island was home to many prominent factories. After the decline of the manufacturing sector in the second half of the 20 th century, Frog Island has been in the process of re-inventing itself.
