6 Grading Scale / Grade Point Averages  Information in Course Catalog  Each semester, for each class you pass you receive a.5 credit. The grades you earn in each class are converted into a 0.0-4.0 scale which becomes your grade point average. For example :  Semester 1 Grades:  A (4.0)  B+ (3.3)  B (3.0)  C+ (2.3)  A- (3.7)  A (4.0) First Semester Grade Point Average = 3.38, B+ Passion – Respect – Integrity – Dedication - Excellence

7 Grading Scale / G.P.A.  Remember: Your grade point average is cumulative. That means the grades you earn freshman year average with the grades you get every other year in high school.  There are no “do-overs” with your grades. If you fail a class, not only does the grade stay on your transcript, but you must take the class again.  Your grades as a 9 th grader significantly impact your chances to get into college. 8 Graduation Requirements Students must meet THREE requirements in order to graduate from Steilacoom High School: 1. Earn a MINIMUM of 24 credits (see page 3 & 4 of Course Catalog) 2. Pass state exams in reading, writing, math and science 3.
