Why? Austin is an important part of our Texas history unit for 4 th grade Social Studies. This trip will provide a close-up experience for students to learn more about Texas History. Students will be required to write a personal narrative for their STAAR test in 4 th grade. This experience will provide personal memories from which to write.

Who? Students will travel to Austin in February via charter buses accompanied by all fourth grade teachers and other support staff. We assure that your child will be properly supervised at all times during the trip. Cowtown Bus Charters is a reputable transportation company with good safety records. Parents chaperoning will be screened using district procedures. Parents interested in chaperoning will need to contact their child’s homeroom teacher.

Cost? The trip will cost $30 per student as a “donation” to PTO. This can be split into two “donations” of $15 each. Parents who are able to make an additional “donation” to sponsor another student will do this through PTO as well.
