Evolution They haven’t changed much in 100 million years. Back then, they could weigh 5.5 tons, be 33 feet long, and could attack dinosaurs. Ever since the dinosaurs were wiped out, crocodiles evolved to be much smaller. Nowadays they are only 17 feet long on average.
4
Habitat Green = Where they are thriving. Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Northern Australia Orange = Where they are more rare. Eastern India, The Philippines, Thailand They can live in both fresh and saltwater rivers.
5
Feeding Habits They are the apex predator wherever they go. Hypercarnivores- Their diet is more than 70% meat. Ambush Predators- They wait for prey to come get water, and then attack. Their killing attack is called the “Death Roll”, which breaks limbs and lets the croc drown their prey. Here’s a video showcasing the death roll. https://youtu.be/aGT-tt8N5uw?t=26 https://youtu.be/aGT-tt8N5uw?t=26

Status and Reproduction They are Oviparous, aka they lay eggs. Up to 60 eggs are laid at once Saltwater crocodile leather is in high demand. This caused them to be endangered in 1945-1970. Due to conservation efforts in Australia, they are considered Least Concern, or Safe.
7
Facts page When a crocodile loses teeth, they are quickly replaced. They can go through 8,000 teeth in a lifetime. Their jaws can apply 5,000 pounds of pressure per square inch. A human's jaw can only apply 100 pounds. Despite that strength, it’s mouth can be held shut with a rubber band, neutralizing the threat. They can swim up to 20 mph, and hold their breath underwater for 1 hour. Their hearing is strong enough that they can hear their babies calling from inside the eggs.

A poem for the crocs. The crocs are fierce, and could eat you for dinner In a fight, they would surely be the winner. Down in Australia, living with Steve Irwin Don’t ever ask them, how they’re doin’. With five thousand pounds, of pressure in their jaw They don’t care how you taste, they’ll just eat you raw. So don’t bother crocs, doesn’t matter if you’re nice Because they’ll destroy you, in just one bite.
