4. Energy Conversion Examples A plant converts electromagnetic energy (sunlight) to chemical energy to make glucose. Ie. Photosynthesis A fan converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. So does a hybrid, or, electrical car. A candle burning converts chemical energy to heat (thermal) and light (electromagnetic) energy. So do many other non-renewable materials like, wood, gas, oil and coal!!!
