Purpose (Continued) The State of California limits the location of residency of paroled sex offenders to a distance of ½ mile from any K-12 school. Prohibitions A registered sex offender is prohibited from being on or within 300 feet of a public or private school for children, day care or child service facility, video arcade, playground, park, or an amusement center. Penalty A person violating this Ordinance is guilty of a misdemeanor. A person violating this Ordinance is guilty of a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or imprisonment in the County Jail for up to one year, or both.
