3.  After World War I ended in 1918, the United States and much of the rest of the world experienced an enormous economic expansion. The surging economy turned the 1920s into a time of easy money, hard drinking (despite the Prohibition amendment to the Constitution), and lavish parties. The 1920’s in America, known as the "Roaring Twenties", was a time of celebration after a devastating war. It was a period of time in America characterized by prosperity and optimism.  The 1920's was a time of great economic prosperity and many people became rich and wealthy. Some people inherited "old money" and some obtained "new money". However, there was the other side of prosperity and many people also suffered the nightmare of being poor. “Lost Generation“  the generation of men and women who came of age during or immediately following World War I: viewed, as a result of their war experiences and the social upheaval of the time, as cynical, disillusioned, and without cultural or emotional stability.

6.  The Great Gatsby is the story of eccentric millionaire Jay Gatsby as told by Nick Carraway. Gatsby’s enormous mansion is adjacent to Nick’s modest home, and Nick becomes curious about his neighbor after being invited to one of his famous parties. Nick soon learns that Gatsby is in love Daisy Buchanan, Nick’s cousin and the wife of Tom Buchanan, a classmate of Nick’s from Yale. Buchanan takes his old friend for a day in the city, where Nick learns that Buchanan has a lover, Myrtle, the wife of a long island mechanic.  Gatsby sends a message through he and Nick’s mutual friend, Jordan Baker, meeting for Gatsby and Daisy. Nick learns that Gatsby and Daisy had once been in love, but Daisy married Tom while Gatsby was in World War 1. Gatsby chose his house in Long Island because it was across the bay from Daisy’s house, from which a green light could be seen at night.  Nick manages to get Gatsby and Daisy together. After first meet, Gatsby and Daisy begin to see each other secretly with some frequency. Nick and Gatsby also become close, as Nick is one of the only people who continues to support Gatsby. Buchanan eventually confronts Gatsby about the affair, and the two argue at length about who it is that Daisy genuinely loves. Daisy claims to love both of them, but she decides to return to Long Island with Gatsby. Daisy drives Gatsby’s car, but she accidentally kills a woman and it turns out that this woman is Buchanan’s lover Myrtle.  Buchanan informs Myrtle’s husband that it was Gatsby’s car that killed the woman. The mechanic goes to Gatsby’s house, where he shoots Gatsby and then himself. Daisy refuses to confess to her crime, and only a few people, including Gatsby’s father Henry, show up for Gatsby’s funeral.

7. Gatsby is mysterious millionaire and obsessed with Daisy Buchanan and had once a romantic relationship with her. Joined a world war 1. Daisy is an attractive and beautiful young woman. Nick's cousin, the wife of Tom Buchanan. Once she had a romantic relationship with Gatsby before she married to Tom. Nick Carraway is a narrator of this book. a newly arrived resident of West Egg. He is easy-going, occasionally sarcastic, and somewhat optimistic. Daisy's cousin and a classmate of Tom at Yale.

8. Tom Buchanan a husband of Daisy and a millionaire who lives East Egg. Tom is an imposing man of muscular, aggressive and arrogant. He has an affair with Myrtle Wilson. Myrtle Wilso George's wife, and Tom Buchanan's mistress. is desperate to find refuge from her complacent marriage, but unfortunately this leads to her tragic ending. She is accidentally killed by Gatsby's car.

9.  Gatsby comes from the Midwest like Nick and moved to West Egg on Long Island. He was hired as one of workers in Daisy's family and once had a romantic relationship with Daisy. Unfortunately, their love story didn't last long. He went to Europe to enter World War I and Daisy got married to a rich man, Tom. He strongly believes that the reason is Tom's wealth, not love. After a few years, He appeared as a mysterious millionaire and spends many nights staring at the green light at the end of her dock, across the bay from his house. He holds extravagant parties on every Saturday but not attending in it. He wanted to make people curious of him to get interested in Daisy and when talking to Nick, We can know a mysterious man who holds parties with curious eyes. This is what Gatsby believes to bring her back. When they finally met, he took her to his house, he showed very gorgeous silks and other stuff to her. but with his wealth and love for Daisy, his dream doesn't come true. He dies tragically and none of people who came to his parties came to his funeral, even Daisy. He was unable to realize a reality.  Because his qualities of love and loyalty as a man, especially during a time of corrupt social values. We think he is great. He stands to make his dream come true staring the green light for a long time.
