9 Comparing Kenya and Sudan Kenya Sudan Current literacy rate is about 85%. Government has made improving education a priority. Literacy rate for boys is about 91% and 80% for girls. Current literacy rate is about 61%. Government has not made the progress in education that we see in Kenya. Literacy rate for boys is about 72% and about 50% for girls.
