1 Classic Film 1- Introduction Class created in 1994 First year called “Art/Film” a film history, film appreciation class fulfills the fine art requirement The main goal is student appreciation and enrichment of our film heritage…..where we have come since 1895……with the help of a few of my friends……Cagney, Gable, Bette Davis, Bogart&Bergman, Cary Grant, Hepburn and Tracy, Jimmy Stewart, Fonda and Wayne.

2 The class is divided into generes..catagories of film starting with THE SILENTS(we look at two). A short class lecture on D.W. Griffith, the first MOVIE STUDIO, “Vitaphone” and THE TALKIES. Students are required to take simple notes on each film for points. Most quizzes are worth 100 points.

11 Students use a variety of note sheets Quizzes vary in length and type. Most are open note. There is a way to raise quiz grades. I have a cupboard with over 200 extra films. For every 3 extra films a student watches, a quiz grade can be raised one grade

12 Classic Film 2 is a follow up class developed in 1996. Covers… War films, Screen Teams, Chaplin etc. In depth midterm team presentations A final exam report THANK YOU FOR YOUR CHILD’S INVOLVEMENT IN IN THIS CLASS!
