1 Win/Win Network Mission Statement WIN/WIN NETWORK THE Introduction The Win/Win Network is a forward- thinking collaboration of nonprofit constituent-based organizations in Washington State. Our mission is to achieve socially responsible policies by: increasing civic participation in underrepresented communities enhancing capacity of partner organizations improving communication and collaboration

Protect the vote WIN/WIN NETWORK THE In 2011, a troubling trend took hold around the country as more than 40 conservative state legislatures suddenly began introducing changes to their voting procedures. While these new laws vary from state to state, they all have the effect of making it harder to vote, especially for African Americans, Latinos and low-income citizens.

8 Integrated Voter Engagement Engage2020 Washington State’s demographics have shifted significantly over the past decade creating unique windows of opportunity Voter engagement and increased participation can result in increased representation, leading to better policy outcomes, particularly for communities of color and underrepresented communities, many of whom are served by nonprofits. 9 Integrated Voter Engagement Engage2020 Voter Registration One quarter of the state are now people of color, with King County having most people of color of any region, home to one third of the state’s 1.6M non-whites. The largest ethnic population is Asian Pacific Islander (over 250,000). Voter registration rates have remained constant over time and are generally high (80% statewide), but uneven between regions.
