Setting Christmas - Timely Setting including grateful hearts that people share with reciprocal ones. Point of view - An omniscient viewpoint is the main view of this work, which makes an author clairvoyant through inner sides of characters and timely and spatial backgrounds.

Themes and Symbols Symbols - Magi : The plural of the magus which means a priest and sage is its technical form and also it indicates the characters of bible related with birth of Jesus, that is christmas. That symbolizes humanism and value of spiritual regards contrasted with materialism. John's clock and Della's hair sacrificed to their own gifts are very it.

- Biblical devices : Timely setting is christmas and the title and some characters in work borrowed biblical elements, Sheba and Solomon symbolizing vain beauty and wisdom. They make a contribution to contrast the priceless gifts embedded in conjugal love, furthermore "agape" and value of sacrifice.

Theme Despite their worthless in a practical view, their gift is worthy of taking note of their own values. For they symbolize pure humanism and inner things to reciprocal consideration that penetrate value of humanity and it is just a theme of the work.

meretricious: seeming attractive, but in fact having no real value. wriggle: to twist and turn your body or part of it with quick short mevements. idiocy: very stupid behaviour; the state of being very stupid. hug: to put your arms around them and hold them tightly. magi: the three wise men from the East who are said to hanve brought presents to the baby Jesus. chronicle: a written record of events in the order in which they happened.
