In our solar cooker. We have inner box and outer box. Outer box reflect sunlight and heat into the inner box,then cover the inner box with wrap in order to reduce heat loss. There are some aluminium foil reflecting sunlight into the solar cooker. We have cut the aluminium can into two part. Therefore, the water can absorb more sunlight.

: We use a convex lens to converge the sunlight so as to heat up the aluminium can. So, we can heat up the water by conduction. :Firstly,we use the aluminium foil to reflect the IR radiation onto the can to heat up the water. The outer box was painted silvery to reflect the sunlight onto the inner box. We know that things painted dull black can be heated up more easily,so we paint the inner box black to get more efficient absorption of radiation.

We use the wrap to cover the inner box in order to create a greenhouse. The radiation can go into the the box but cannot come out. So, the radiation can be trapped inside. Hence, the temperature of the water will increase.

In the test, our result is not good. We think that it is because our aluminium can was cut into two part. As a result, the heat will be lost by convection. Also, the sun light cannot be totally reflected onto the inner box. Our wrap cannot cover up the whole inner box, so the heat will lose by convection. Last but not least, our aluminium can should be painted black.
