about LAURIE CANTER Laurie was born and still resides in Bath, England. He was born on the 3 rd of November 1989 Once a keen tennis player, Laurie played to a National level for the Great Britain junior squad until the age of 13 Laurie took this as an opportunity to try something new and just before his 14 th birthday he began playing golf. Such was Laurie ’ s natural talent and love for the game, within four years of playing he had achieved a handicap of scratch, before eventually reaching plus 5 and achieving the lowest handicap in the UK. Laurie is a passionate sports fan and when at home often watches Bath Rugby play. Laurie is an active member of the golfing community in the Bath and Bristol area and on breaks from international competition regularly plays with members from all local clubs.

LAURIE CANTER- Amateur Career 2010 was a breakthrough year for Laurie with six national titles including the South African Amateur Championship, South African Amateur Strokeplay and breaking Justin Rose’s scoring record in the prestigious Hampshire Hog title. A major highlight for Laurie was winning the Open Final Qualifying at Fairmont; consequently playing in the British Open at St Andrews in 2010 and playing in the South African Open as a result of being the national amateur champion for 2010 where he was paired with Retief Goosen. Laurie was selected to represent both winning England teams in the European Team Championships and the Home Internationals; the latter in which Laurie was England ’ s top point scorer. Laurie represented the British and Irish Lions in 2010 against Europe in the St. Andrews Trophy and was selected to play the Eisenhower Trophy for England, the pinnacle of amateur golf. Laurie was 2011 Spanish Amateur Champion gaining him entry into the Spanish Open on the European Tour. He went on to make the cut, finishing 44 th and securing the amateur silver medal, previously won by Seve Ballesteros and Sergio Garcia. On turning professional, Laurie was ranked 5 th in the Amateur World Rankings and in May 2011 had accumulated more points than anyone else.

Laurie CANTER- Professional Highlights 2015: After his most consistent year as a professional on the Europro Tour, Laurie successfully negotiated all three stages of the European Tour School (14 rounds), including winning the first stage and finishing 4 th at the second stage in Spain, before competing alongside many stalwarts of European golf at the final stage and earning the 19 th card, gaining full playing rights to play alongside the worlds best golfers in 2016. 2011/2012/2013/2014: Laurie gained invaluable experience playing on a mix of European, Challenge and Sunshine tour golf all over the UK, Europe and South Africa.
