Micromouse 296 Team: Rabbitwagon Fall O8

The Team Richard Ordonez- Project Leader Bob Barfield- Software Manager Lance Lavarias- Mechanical Architect Micheal Pascaul- Hardware

Overview To create, a small autonomous robotic mouse that will: 1.Navigate it’s way safely to a central point of a maze 2.Map the maze 3.Find the shortest route from the start point to central point of the maze. Contest rules must be followed.

The Name + = RABBITWAGON

Learning Expectations Understand new electronic components and how they function Learn how to build a functional robot (MICROMOUSE) Apply knowledge from previous engineering courses Learn how to work efficiently as a team in an engineering work environment

Discussion of Approach Understand how the electronic components work together 1.top-down sensors 2.stepper motors 3.Rabbit microprocessor 4.IC chips 5.Power regulation Design Micromouse 1.Electrical layout 2.Physical Layout 3.Software

Build 1.Put everything together Debug programming 1.Does the mouse work? 2.Does the mouse track well? 3.Does the mouse map? 4.Does the mouse find the center?

Potential Problems Circuit doesn’t work Mouse cannot navigate through the maze Programming doesn’t work Time

Team Goals Build a working mouse Find the center Map the maze Complete a speed run Document the experience Have fun
