Lending Workflows Outside of ILLiad Updates to the OR requests are notified via emails, for both Borrowing and Lending. When you receive a new Lending request, you will be notified via email. The Lending function of OR is entirely out of ILLiad.

When ready to fill a OR request: Save the PDF of the e-Book locally Activate the OR image conversion software to convert the file ‘Process’ the OR request in the system to upload the file and to notify the borrowing library

What a Successful OR Loan Looks Like Access key shared with borrowing library and patron 14-day loan period Access provided online and accessible everywhere OR viewer provides many features such as: Color Zooming function Thumbnail function OR viewer presents some limitations: No copying, printing, downloading or searching (no OCR)

License Review: the Side Project Licensing review is necessary to determine if an e- Book can be loaned. MSU developed a workflow to scan licenses when requests come up. New ERM records are created for different packages to code varied ILL terms.

Statistical Review MSU Borrowing (since 1/1/2016): 15 unfilled out of 15 requests MSU Lending (since 1/1/2016): 72 rejected out of 72 requests

Statistical Review System wide stats per OR (since 1/1/2016): A total of 148 requests 41 completed (28%) 23 canceled by borrower 72 unfilled 12 in process

Future Directions Licensing work is the foundation of any and all interlibrary loan for e-Books. OR is planning on more system enhancements in the future including a discovery layer. It takes collective efforts to change the landscape of e-Book sharing.
