Health & safety All equipment used for filming will be utilized carefully and will be signed out with teacher permission. We are for the most part filming sequences that are in safe and secure areas, such as in casual public places, but with a few exceptions. When we film the scene at Starbucks, we have to walk through busy streets to get to the coffee place. We will be careful in crossing streets and watching out for cars. In one of the scenes, Emily will be walking next to a pool. So before we film, we will make sure Emily can properly swim to make sure if she falls in she will not drown. At the end of our sequence, there will be a ground level shot of the moving wheels of the car. Philippe will be leaning out of the moving car in order to get the shot. The rest of the group members will make sure that the car is going at a slow speed along a clear road with no other cars on it.
17
Opening sequence script *All dialogue throughout the opening sequence is done in Carly’s voice as a voiceover. Scene 1 Carly: Life is crazy, you never know what’s going to happen... That’s why my friends and I went along with this...
18
Scene 2 (Sound of the alarm clock goes off and Philippe reaches over to turn it off and then gets out of bed) Scene 3 (Philippe pours coffee into a mug) This is Philippe. He’s pretty cool. Well not really, but we tolerate him because he drives the car. Scene 4 (Danyelle is handed a Starbucks coffee and she looks down at a magazine with a picture of Maui) This is Danyelle. She’s pretty uptight but I think I can convince her to go on this trip with us. She needs to live a little.
19
Scene 5 (Emily is laying down on a lounge chair by the pool while reading a magazine with a picture of a map in it) This is Emily. Talk about a drama queen. It’s okay though because she always looks good. Scene 6 (Emily walks to a table and throws the magazine on it) Scene 7 (See hands pick up the magazine) *Scenes 6 and 7 have “Ways To Go” by Grouplove as the audio
20
Scene 8 (Carly is running down the street) And then there’s me. Carly. I like to see myself as the spontaneous one. But trying to get a group of friends like this to do something was so difficult. You have no idea. *The dialogue carries on in scene 9 and in the beginning of scene 10. Scene 9 (Philippe pulls the car up to Danyelle’s house) Scene 10 (Danyelle walks out the door and goes to Philippe’s car)
21
Scene 11 (Philippe pulls the car up to the park area) Scene 12 (Emily walks to the car) Scene 13 (Car pulls up outside of 7-Eleven) Scene 14 (Carly walks out of 7-Eleven with a slurpee in hand) Mali. That’s the plan. The only plan. The rest was for us to decide. *In scenes 11, 12, and 13 “Ways To Go” by Grouplove is the only sound
22
Scene 15 (Title appears on a black background) Scene 16 (Carly, Danyelle, Emily, and Philippe are in the car, laughing and enjoying the time they have with one another) Scene 17 (Camera is angled at eye-level with the moving wheel of the car and a side view of the payment) *In these last 3 scenes the only sound is the song “Ways To Go” by Grouplove
