Religions and Festivals The Romans believed in many different gods and goddesses. Special festivals for the gods were held during the year, with: Processions Music Offerings Animal sacrifices.

Festivals The festivals were often public holidays. The mid-winter festival of Saturnalia, in honour of Saturn, lasted up to seven days. The Pantheon in Rome was a temple to all the gods. It was built between 118 and 128 AD. Its mosaic floor, interior columns and high dome still remain exactly as they were built.
