7. The 08-09 Central Boys Basketball team looks to be one of the best in school history. The Rams started their soon to be memorable season in the tough Mundelein Thanksgiving Tournament. The Rams opened their season against host Mundelein High School, a team ranked as one of the best in the area. The Rams showed how good they were with a decisive 82-64 win over the Mustangs. Senior Kevin O’Rourke stared in the game with 24 points and a memorable dunk on a breakaway near the end of the third quarter. “That win really brought our confidence up as a team. We started the season really well against a great team,” said Senior David Bell. The Rams then took on a very talented Loyola Academy. The Rams led most of the game and into the fourth quarter but the Ramblers pulled away at the end, winning 57-49. Junior Andrew Sipes led the Rams with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Senior Mike Brumm chipped in with 14 points.
