Things I Learned Should use “nautical” instead of “nautica” as the latter can be confused with the popular clothing company, a song, or cruise ship People purchase and decorate their houses in a nautical or beach theme regardless if they live on a beach or not Selling nautical or beach theme decorations to restaurants near beaches could be a lucrative model EBay and Amazon are excellent tools to discover what customers are paying money for. See what sold recently in eBay by: advance search -> recently sold
9
Things I Learned Cont Marine “antique” chronometers sell for 1000s on eBay as well as antique diver helmets Paintings of cities by water (i.e., Venice) can sell for a lot ship wheels and anchors are popular decor A lot of possibilities in this niche

User Experience (UX) UX deals with your visitors behaviors, attitudes, and emotions when visiting your site UX is part of a well executed seo strategy Simplicity is key, and is generally easier to do w/ smaller sites. Becomes difficult to maintain w/ large site (.i.e., Amazon, Facebook, YouTube) Map out the user interface(UI) for your site before its developed – Saves time (less modifications) – Saves money (have clear expectations of what you need done) – Increase conversions (do you buy from sites w/ good or poor UI, why?)
15

The technique is called website wireframe (wf) It’s a visual representation of the skeletal layout of a site Top 3 priorities? – Information design: Deals w/ presentation & layout of content – Navigational design: Deals w/ links & how they communicate w/ each other – Interface design: Allows visitors to interact w/ functionality of system – A good free software tool for wf is PencilPencil
