Presentation Objectives By the end of this presentation you should have achieved Assessment Objective 4 Identify how far Broom House Farm has met its objectives Support judgements with original research Evaluate which factors have helped Broom House Farm achieve its aims the most Success Criteria To achieve Mark band 1:A judgement, based upon limited evidence, of how the business has achieved its main aims and objectives, describing the factors that have contributed to this Mark Band 2: A judgement, with some justification, of how the business has achieved its main aims and objectives, explaining the factors that have contributed to this Mark Band 3: A judgement, supported by a reasoned justification, of the how the business has achieved its main aims and objectives, discussing the key factors that have contributed to this. Mark Band 4: A judgement, supported by a coherent justification, of how the business has achieved its main aims and objectives, evaluating the key factors that have contributed to this. There will also be marks for communication skills.

The Task Judge how the businesses has achieved its main aims and evaluate the impact of key factors that have affected its success (10-12 marks) The following should assist you with evaluation Provide specific evidence (e.g. up to date sales figures, market share, profit, company reports) that shows which of BHF aims and objectives have been met. Explain which of the following factors have helped BHF to achieve their aims and objectives i. Marketing activities ii. Enterprise skills iii. Teams iv External factors Make a judgement as to which of these factors have had the most significant impact on the business, and explain why? Use evidence (e.g. up to date sales figures, market share, profit, company reports) to support your conclusions.

Success Criteria AQA said Successful candidates 1)made judgments which considered both the positive and negative aspects of factors contributing to the business success, and considered the significance of these issues. 2) Presented countervailing arguments in A04, and a ‘discussion’ of the key factors contributing to success, eg Talked through the positive and negative impacts of PESTLE, Marketing, Enterprise and Teams. 3) Focused on how rather than whether their aims and objectives have been met

Approaching the Task The general approach you should take to this task is: Aim: State which aim you are talking about. You do not have to discuss every aim but must talk about each area of the farm. How Far Has It Been Achieved: Show evidence to show whether or not it has been achieved. Factors Affecting Achievement: explain which/how each of the activities has helped achieve the aim. It is possible that several factors may have contributed. At the end of that paragraph state which one was the most important and why.

The Overall Conclusion Make an overall judgement: “I think that…… BHF is overall…..successful because……….” Which factor has been the most important and why? Try to make a comparison of the positive of your choice against the negative reasons for others
